This site is under construction.  There is plenty of information about Macha and MICS here, but we are still working on the organization.

What Should We Name The MICS Mascott?

Welcome To So Macha!

Gil and Ronda KrauseGil and Ronda have been living in Africa for the past 12 years. Over 3 years ago, they moved to the remote village of Macha, Zambia. They are located more than 2 hours from the closest paved road and 5 hours from a major city. Electricity and water are not readily available for them, so needless to say, life is always an adventure in Macha.

They moved to Macha to start MICS (Macha Innovative Christian School). There was a desperate need for a quality elementary school for the local children and the many orphans in Macha. It has been 3 years now, and they have more than 60 students. God has done many amazing things in Macha. We are excited to see what will happen next!

This website will allow Gil and Ronda to keep everyone informed and up to date on all the events in Macha.
Please check back often and keep them in your prayers.

Miles For Macha

Miles for Macha is a fundraising program that encourages people to run, be healthy, and at the same time raise money for MICS.  As of January 11, 2009 we have raised over $12,173 for the new school!  This money will be going toward a new vehicle that is needed for transporting children and supplies for the school.

Please contact us for more information or visit MilesForMacha.com if you would like to get involved!

Not For Profit Formation

We are in the process of establishing an incorporated not for profit organization (501c3) that will allow MICS and additional projects in Macha to accept donations that will be tax deductable.  It will be called Macha Works USA.  This will open up a whole new window of possiblites for the school.  We will be elegible for grants and company matching.  Please pray about this process and the future of MICS!
